SPAIN Visa Document Requirements
Please read the visa requirements carefully and follow the exact requirements to ensure all necessary documents are submitted correctly. Adhering to these guidelines will help avoid any delays in the processing of your visa application.
Short Stay Visa-Tourist/Family
- Long Brown Envelope:
- Write applicant's surname, name, contact number, and email address in bold letters on the upper left corner using a marker.

Valid Passport and previous passports if available. Note that the valid passport must have at least six months validity before its expiration date and must have the owner's signature on the first and second biopages.
- Two recent Colored Photos Passport Sized:
- Facial Expression: Must not be smiling, showing teeth, or any exaggerated facial expressions.
- Background: White background is required.
- Clothing: Should contrast with the white background.
- Quality: The photo should be polarized printed at the photo company.
- Hair: If the person has long hair, it should be pulled back behind the ears.
- Accessories: No accessories should be worn in the photo.
- Requirements: The photo must meet the requirements for both hard copy and soft copy submissions.
- Cover Letter:
- Must include travel dates to Spain, purpose of travel, and any companions traveling with the applicant.
- Financial Documents:
- Bank certificate.
- Bank book.
- Statement of account showing the last 6 months of transactions.
- If employed: Certificate of Employment (last 3 years) and Authorization for Leave of Absence, Income Tax Return (ITR).
- If self-employed: Business permit, SEC, DTI, company Income Tax Return (ITR) validated by BIR, and business financial statement.
- Participants in Events & Studies (Less than 90 days):
- For commercial fairs or cultural/sports events: Name of the invited person (including function), contact details, name & position of the counter-signing person, length & purpose of visit, and program of workshops/meetings.
- For study, research, internship:
- Certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment, program of workshops and meetings.
- Two-Way Airline Ticket Reservation:
- Detailed itinerary and airline reservation. It is recommended not to purchase the flight ticket before obtaining the visa.
- Travel Health Insurance:
- Insurance coverage must be for the duration of the intended stay in the Schengen area.
- Confirmed Hotel Reservations
- For the entire stay in the Schengen area.
- For Spouses/Family of Spanish/EU Nationals:
- Marriage certificate issued not more than 6 months ago. Unrecognized marriages by the corresponding EU government will not be processed as an EU spouse visa.
- Identity/Marital Status Documents:
- If single: Birth certificate (original birth certificate is required for minors).
- If married: Birth certificate and marriage contract.
- For non-Filipino applicants: Present ACR/ICR valid at least three months beyond the date of departure from the Schengen area, and one set of photocopies.
- For Minors:
- Authorization and birth certificate issued by the PSA.
- If traveling alone or with only one parent: Written consent of the non-traveling parent/legal guardian or proof of sole custody of the traveling parent or legal guardian. If the father's name does not appear on the PSA-issued birth certificate, no consent is required.
- Copy of bio-data page of parent’s or legal guardian’s passport.
- If traveling alone: Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) clearance, certificate of leave of absence if traveling during the school year.
- For Non-Appearance:
- Applicants with a previous Schengen visa issued in the last 3 years can authorize someone else to submit their application, but this authorization must be fully signed by the applicant.
